William Dicks (they/them) is a full-time freelance photographer based in Halifax/Kjipuktuk. Originally from small-town Newfoundland, where their interest in photo first took root, they made the move to Nova Scotia/Mi’kmaki in 2013 to pursue their career in the business of looking and seeing. They have been proud to call this place home ever since. Their photographic interests lie primarily in the fields of editorial, documentary, and portrait photography. Over the course of their career, they have made a name for themselves for their intense and dramatic character studies, as well as their knack for capturing the beating hearts of their subjects. William seeks to explore connection, story, and identity through their work. Their goal is to create images that reveal the authentic self of the person or persons in front of their lens.
